We had earlier reported on the funding development and its now confirmed. Druva software has raised $12m USD in series B funding from Nexus Venture Partners and existing investor Sequoia Capita.
The Pune based startup provides advanced data protection solutions for organizations. The company has already raised $5m USD in the first round of venture funding from Sequoia Capital and Indian Angel Network in March 2010. Some of the customers of Druva Software include Schlumberger, GE Energy, DHL, Louis Vuitton, Amway, NASA and HCL.
Druva’s Enterprise software called inSync is built of a superior technical platform that enables fast and near real-time laptop backup including support for smartphones and tablets. The funding will be used to expand its product offering and sales and marketing in North America, EMEA and Asia Pacific.
As a result of this new investment, Jaspreet Singh, co-founder and CEO of Druva, has been named chairman of the board. Druva’s board of directors will also consist of Shailendra Singh, managing director, Sequoia Capital; Jishnu Bhattacharjee, principal, Nexus Venture Partners; Ramani Kothandaraman, co-founder and COO of Druva; and Yoram Novick, CEO and founder of Topio.
